Communist Party of Ukraine Expelled from Parliament
2.5 million people voted (about 12% of the electorate) for the Communist Party of Ukraine in 2012. Despite this democratic mandate the fascists in power have moved to ban the Communist Party, silencing the political voice of millions. Their 23 MPs have been expelled from Parliament.
The Young Communist League condemns repression, and state and fascist paramilitary violence towards our comrades in the Communist Party of Ukraine. However no amount of threats, interference or thuggery can silence the communists. We extend solidarity and strength to our comrades there and call on workers in Britain to support the Solidarity with the Antifascist Resistance in Ukraine group here in Britain.
British Communist and former President of the RMT, Alex Gordon, speaking on Russia Today in response to the news.
